About the Role

Location: Redmond, 98052 (Hybrid Role)

Responsibilities

  • Build and Enhance Security Analysis Pipelines:
    • Develop preprocessing pipelines for compiling C/C++ firmware code into LLVM IR.
    • Implement and maintain LLVM-based transformations for off-target analysis and fuzzing.
    • Design systems for generating and executing fuzzing campaigns using modern frameworks.
  • Security Automation and Tooling:
    • Enhance vulnerability detection pipelines and reduce false positives through improved analysis techniques.
    • Improve reporting systems for actionable engineering insights from security findings.
    • Build scalable automation combining compiler infrastructure, security tools, and AI-driven workflows.
  • Open-Source Readiness:
    • Improve system reliability, modularity, test coverage, and CI/CD automation.
    • Create developer documentation, onboarding guides, and architectural references.
    • Support dependency review, reproducible builds, and open-source readiness activities.
    • Contribute to long-term technical strategy and platform evolution.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong professional experience in C/C++ software development.
  • Hands-on experience with compiler technologies, LLVM, or low-level systems programming.
  • Experience with fuzzing frameworks like libFuzzer, AFL, AFL++, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software security principles, including memory-safety.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and automated fuzzing.
  • Knowledge of open-source engineering practices.
  • Previous work in firmware security analysis.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $190,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
