About the role
As a Firmware Engineer II, you will be part of our Device Embedded Systems team responsible for designing, developing, and verifying embedded software applications used in implantable cardiac medical devices. Your work will directly impact the organization and improve the lives of millions. This position is located in Mounds View, MN, within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Operating Unit.

Less than 10% travel is required to enhance collaboration and ensure project success.
A day in the life
- Develop and test embedded software as part of a system, document and troubleshoot issues, and work with instrument and hardware functions.
- Use a variety of software troubleshooting tools, including off-the-shelf and custom-built.
- Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Work well independently and with cross-functional engineering disciplines.
Requirements
Must Have - Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years of Firmware Development experience.
- OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 0 years of Firmware Development experience.
Skills
Nice to Have:
- Embedded software development experience in C/C++.
- Ability to write and interpret test scripts in C/C++.
- Specific knowledge of embedded systems and interpreting specifications.
- Specific knowledge of implantable medical devices.
- Specific knowledge of Bluetooth.
- Experience working in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with real-time operating systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong collaboration skills.

Pay
Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding Puerto Rico) are $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 (USD). The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on experience, certifications, market conditions, and location.
