About the role
Torch Technologies is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position is critical for conducting detailed firmware analysis, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of firmware systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed firmware analysis using tools to ensure system integrity and reliability.
- Perform static firmware analysis, design and verification including requirements capture, simulation, code coverage, synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis.
- Identify, document, and report vulnerabilities within firmware systems, providing actionable recommendations for resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure firmware meets performance, functionality, and compliance standards.
- Provide technical support for firmware validation and testing efforts.
- Maintain thorough documentation of firmware analysis processes, findings, and recommendations.
- Stay up to date with emerging firmware analysis techniques and tools, actively suggesting improvements.
Requirements
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years’ applicable experience. Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Proven experience in firmware analysis tools, including Questa and Questa Inspect.
- Understanding static firmware analysis, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC).
- Experience identifying and reporting vulnerabilities within firmware systems.
- Experience in c/c++/java/python/vhdl/html/matlab.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Familiarity with industry standards for firmware development and validation.
Qualifications
- Experience with defense or aerospace firmware systems.
- Knowledge of firmware analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies for firmware vulnerabilities.
- Strong documentation skills to maintain detailed records of analysis processes and findings.
