Firmware Engineer

Contract position based in Santa Clara, CA. Position is anticipated to close on Aug 7, 2026.

About the role

Design and develop software for medical device product(s) in full compliance with the company’s Design Control requirements and consistent with FDA, ISO, and MDD requirements. Focused on supporting new product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for medical devices using C programming and microcontrollers.
• Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Implement and maintain hardware communications drivers such as 1-Wire, I2C, SPI, RS232, USB, and CAN protocols.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and cybersecurity applications using tools like Blackduck and VectorCAST.
• Create and maintain documentation for medical device software.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Intermediate-level experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C programming and microcontroller-based systems.
• Experience with RTOS, hardware communication protocols, and medical device software development.
• Familiarity with Blackduck and VectorCAST tools.
