About the role
We are seeking a Firmware & Embedded Systems Engineer to join our New Product Development team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for embedded systems and will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems
- Develop reliable, low-level software that interfaces directly with hardware
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle
- Create embedded solutions that meet demanding customer requirements for reliability, performance, and low-power operation
- Troubleshoot and resolve firmware and embedded system issues
- Support product verification, validation, and production readiness activities
- Research and evaluate emerging embedded technologies
- Aid with project planning, estimation, and continuous improvement efforts
- Contribute to the long-term evolution of next-generation electric actuation products
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Professional experience developing embedded software or firmware for microcontroller-based systems
- Strong programming experience with C and C++
- Experience working with embedded hardware and microcontroller-based products
- Ability to read electrical schematics and component datasheets
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of embedded software or firmware development experience
- Experience with RTOS
- Embedded hardware and software debugging experience
- Familiarity with source control, defect tracking, and software development lifecycle tools
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and HART
- Experience with object-oriented design methodologies and UML
- Experience with C#
- Experience supporting products from concept through production release
Pay
- $100,000 - $104,000
