About the role

We are seeking a Firmware & Embedded Systems Engineer to join our New Product Development team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for embedded systems and will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems
  • Develop reliable, low-level software that interfaces directly with hardware
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Create embedded solutions that meet demanding customer requirements for reliability, performance, and low-power operation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firmware and embedded system issues
  • Support product verification, validation, and production readiness activities
  • Research and evaluate emerging embedded technologies
  • Aid with project planning, estimation, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Contribute to the long-term evolution of next-generation electric actuation products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Professional experience developing embedded software or firmware for microcontroller-based systems
  • Strong programming experience with C and C++
  • Experience working with embedded hardware and microcontroller-based products
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and component datasheets
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of embedded software or firmware development experience
  • Experience with RTOS
  • Embedded hardware and software debugging experience
  • Familiarity with source control, defect tracking, and software development lifecycle tools
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and HART
  • Experience with object-oriented design methodologies and UML
  • Experience with C#
  • Experience supporting products from concept through production release

Pay

  • $100,000 - $104,000
