Firewatch I

Responsibilities

• Move equipment, dig, retrieve equipment
• Stand by for fire safety
• Perform other tasks as instructed by a supervisor or journeyman
• Use fire extinguisher
• Climb on to structures and scaffolding
• Use rigging and hoisting devices to move equipment/materials into place
• Conduct preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing/repairing worn parts
• Follow directions from supervisor

Qualifications

• Able to meet all physical demands
• Experience using industrial hand tools and power tools
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to work 7 days as needed

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting
• Talking and hearing to communicate
• Using arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and tools
• Lifting, carrying and moving up to 50 lbs.
• Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, working off of platforms
• Using vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision
• Working outside in the elements including heat, cold, rain, snow and wind
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots
