About the role
Responsible for installing pre-fabricated fireplace products into homes, commercial sites, and more. The Fireplace Installer/Service Technician must reflect and represent Hamilton Parker’s core values: H.E.A.R.T. (History, Enthusiastic, Adaptive, Reputable, Team-oriented).
Responsibilities
- Install pre-fabricated electric, gas, and woodburning fireplaces (may involve retrofitting an existing fireplace or adding a fireplace to an existing or new home).
- Install metal venting pipes through a roof or attic to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Penetrate drywall/side walls for installation.
- Occasionally provide basic service on previously installed fireplaces.
- Safely drive to various jobsites throughout the day.
- Read and follow technical information and specifications provided by the manufacturer regarding proper installation.
- Understand and work with building materials and home construction.
- Know and meet specific building codes.
- Effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- Use multiple power and hand tools proficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work truck and job site.
- Work with gas lines and understand electrical systems at a basic level.
- Safely move and install fireplaces over 100 lbs.
Requirements
- Comfortable with heights (working on a ladder and roof).
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Must work well independently as well as with fellow team members.
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and work on the roof.
- Frequently required to stand for long periods of time throughout the day (up to 8 hours).
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license (to drive a company truck).
Qualifications
- HVAC background desired due to gas line exposure.
- Quick learner.
