Firefighter/Paramedic
About the Role
Shrewsbury, one of Massachusetts' premier communities, is seeking experienced and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedics to join our Fire Department team as we start our inaugural town owned Fire-Based Ambulance service in the coming months.
What You Bring
- Prior experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic is highly preferred.
- Paramedic Certification: Current certification as a Massachusetts EMT-Paramedic highly preferred. EMT-Basics in paramedic school considered.
- Fire Academy Training: Prior Graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA) is highly preferred.
- Residency Requirement: Must live within 25 miles of Shrewsbury, border to border, as the crow flies, within nine (9) months following appointment. (Map of eligible towns attached.)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensing & Statutory Requirements: Valid MA Driver's License required. Must comply with M.G.L. c. 411014 (Non-Smoker requirement).
- Intensive Pre-Hire Screening: Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, medical examination, psychological evaluation, and the post-offer Candidate Physical Ability Test (PAT).

Schedule & Culture

Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $76,535.80 - $86,353.04, with Paramedic Stipend and depending upon experience.
