The City of Kankakee Fire Department is looking for interested candidates to fill our Firefighter/Paramedic position.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age at the time of hire and under age 35 (unless meets other criteria denoted in 65 ILCS 5/10-1-7)
• A U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
• A valid Illinois driver's license
• A high school diploma or equivalent required
• A Basic Operations Firefighter/Certified Paramedic or Certified Paramedic
• CPAT at time of hire

• Application Window: July 21, 2026 - August 5, 2026
• Orientation & Test: August 8th or August 9th at 10:00 AM (select your preferred date on the application)
