General Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other calls to protect life and property
- Participates in fire prevention, training, station and equipment maintenance activities
- Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory and management staff and exercises functional and technical supervision over assigned staff
Physical Demands
- Candidates must be able to pass the Massachusetts Physical Ability Test (PAT) for Firefighters

Minimum Entrance Requirements
- Massachusetts Paramedic Certification
- ACLS, CPR, PALS
- Driver’s License
- Minimum of GED
Special Requirements
- Firefighting and rescue techniques, methods and practices
- Advanced emergency medical procedures and patient assessment techniques
- Arithmetic computations and formulas
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Computer applications involving word processing, data entry and/or standard report generation
- Techiques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, often in situations which may be stressful

Starting at $85,560 annually ($75,052.38 base plus a 9% EMT-P Stipend and 13 contractual holidays)
