Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression, rescue, and medical services.
- Operate fire apparatus and perform pump operations.
- Provide emergency medical care using appropriate certifications.
- Lift and drag heavy objects as needed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid South Carolina driver's license (Class E or CDL).
- Good driving record with a 10-year driving history.
- Five years of experience as a Firefighter.
- Current IFSAC or Pro-Board Firefighter II certification.
- Current SCFA Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training (EVDT) certification.
- Current SCFA Pump Operations I and SCFA Pump Operations II certification.
- Medical Emergency Responder/Professional CPR Certification or higher.
- Completion of SCFA 2153- ICS 300, SCFA 2154- ICS 400, SCFA 2100- Fire Officer 1, SCFA 4171- Fire Instructor 1, and SCFA 1250- Aerial Operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift and drag at least 189 pounds and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Skills
- Proficiency in fire suppression techniques.
- Knowledge of emergency medical procedures.
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
