Firearms Team Lead - Full Time
About the role
The Team Leader provides daily direction to the associates in the firearms department, supporting the Group Sales or Department Manager in achieving departmental goals while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in firearm sales and compliance with ATF, state, local laws, and company policies, including 4473 and 3310 forms.
- Directs and guides Sales Outfitters in firearm safe handling, operations, and customer experience standards.
- Works with the Group Sales or Department Manager to meet sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals.
- Prepares to-do lists and executes merchandising directives.
- Maintains a pleasant shopping experience and ensures a productive work environment.
- Assists in staffing the department with service-oriented associates, conducting interviews, and preparing performance appraisals.
- Resolves customer and associate issues, maintains high customer service standards, and assists in special events coordination.
- Ensures accurate inventory, displays, and signs all advertised items.
- Supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluations.
- Conducts product demonstrations and assists in decision-making processes for customers.
Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: 2 to 4 Years in Retail Sales, Supervisor experience preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Calculating discounts, commissions, and percentages; reading and analyzing reports; presenting information; conducting meetings; operating machinery and power tools; communicating with others; lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Physical Requirements: Standing and walking during shift; ascending/descending ladders, stairs, ramps; communicating with others; repeating motions; operating machinery and heavy equipment; working in tight and confined spaces; working in noisy environments.
- Independent Judgement: Performs duties within scope of company policies and procedures, analyzes problems, and adapts broad guidelines to achieve desired results.
