Firearms Retail Store Manager

Long Shot Ammo & Arms is more than a gun shop. In addition to offering a wide range of products and services for shooters, hunters, collectors, and protectors, the store features recreational ranges—including axe throwing and an outdoor gun range—as well as the Swift Safariland museum/banquet room, which displays over a hundred animal trophies from around the world. The company is seeking a Store Manager with strong leadership skills to lead the team, develop innovative sales promotions, and stay current on the latest products.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide leadership throughout the retail sales department.
• Provide training and support to staff to ensure product knowledge and excellent customer service.
• Supervise daily activities and set departmental direction to meet expectations.
• Oversee the safe handling of firearms at all times.
• Ensure ATF compliance with all company policies, procedures, and required paperwork (paper and electronic 4473, ATF 3310.4).
• Train and enforce all firearm safety guidelines and regulations.
• Develop and execute marketing strategies, including sales promotions throughout the store.

Requirements

• Retail sales or service experience (required).
• Management experience (required).
• Marketing experience (required).
• Proficiency with cash registers, personal computers, and software packages, including POS and inventory management systems.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to work as a team player.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and create an efficient retail environment with minimal supervision; troubleshoot and resolve common problems.
• Capability to study and develop a knowledge base of company products, policies, and procedures.
• Professional, courteous communication with employees and business contacts.
• Knowledge of ATF compliance regulations (helpful).
• Knowledge of firearms or experience with firearms (preferred).
