Firearms Instructor

United Defense Tactical is a leading firearms training facility dedicated to empowering civilians with the skills and knowledge to effectively defend themselves in real-world scenarios.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Firearms Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide firearms training services to our clients, including instruction in firearm safety, handling, and shooting techniques. UDT utilizes a state-of-the-art threat-based simulator, reality-based force-on-force training, and indoor and outdoor live-fire training.

Schedule

16–20 hours per week. Common part-time schedules include weekends, evening shifts, and weekday mornings or afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members using UDT's threat-based reality simulator.
• Teach force-on-force and self-defense training courses.
• Conduct firearms training sessions for individuals and groups, covering basic safety, handling, and shooting techniques.
• Teach proper firearm safety rules and protocols to ensure all participants are aware of potential hazards.
• Maintain training equipment and facility.
• Monitor and maintain a safe and secure range environment during training sessions.
• Evaluate participants' performance and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Stay current with industry developments, new equipment, and training techniques to ensure up-to-date and effective training sessions.

Requirements

• Ability to learn and adhere to UDT's extensive and in-depth curriculum.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a firearms instructor or law enforcement officer.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of firearm safety and handling protocols.
• Familiarity with a variety of firearms and their operation.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Comfortable working in an outdoor range environment.
• Possess any necessary certifications and licenses for instructing.
