About the role

Assist in the performance of routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire protection systems—fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and extinguishing systems—under direct supervision. Help diagnose and evaluate systems that require servicing, troubleshoot issues that arise during inspections, and document inspection findings and recommendations.

Assist with the installation of fire alarm equipment and the service, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems under the direct supervision of a licensed technician. Support diagnosing and evaluating industrial fire protection systems and troubleshooting issues under supervision. Interact with customers, contractors, vendors, and other employees in a respectful, professional manner.

Some overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire protection systems (fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguishing systems).
  • Assist in diagnosing and evaluating systems requiring servicing and troubleshooting issues during inspections.
  • Document inspection findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with the installation of fire alarm equipment and service, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems under supervision.
  • Support troubleshooting of industrial fire protection systems under the supervision of a licensed Fire Alarm Technician.
  • Interact professionally with customers, contractors, vendors, and team members.

Requirements

  • Work experience, training, or education in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire protection systems or related equipment is preferred but not mandatory (training will be provided).
  • Must be able to work at the IAH Airport.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain any applicable state licenses.
  • Experience installing conduit (both EMT and Rigid) is preferred.
  • A current Driver’s License is preferred.
  • Work experience, training, or education in alarm systems or related equipment is preferred but not required (training will be provided).
  • Must satisfy Government, Federal, and Customs background check requirements.
