About the Role
Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, and installing fire sprinkler systems, as well as maintaining piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems.
Responsibilities
- Install pipe systems and valves
- Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings
- Remove and replace worn components
- Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
- Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
- Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers on proper installation techniques
- Ensure company-provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Advanced technical school training or related work experience (preferred)
- Current Fire Sprinkler License (required)
- 3-5 years’ experience installing pipe systems and valves (required); 5+ years’ experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to comply with drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements, including customer-specific requirements

Physical Requirements
- Frequently bend, ascend/descend step stools, ladders, and stairs
- Frequently kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, reach above and below shoulders, stand and walk for extended periods
- Occasionally balance, crouch, drive, kneel, lift over 50 lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights
- Required to see in color, close and far distances, peripheral, depth, and adjust focus
Work Environment
- Frequent local travel and occasional regional/non-regional travel
- Frequent work inside and outside in hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, cramped quarters, dust, fumes, odors, and standing on hard surfaces
- Occasional exposure to chemicals, moving machinery, uneven/slippery surfaces, and electrical hazards
- Must consistently wear all appropriate personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies
