About the role

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company, Pye Barker. The Fire Sprinkler Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the Sprinkler Department.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees a team of managers and analysts to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
  • Led an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
  • Conducts risk assessments: reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Fulfills all OSHA standards and laws.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Submits drawings for approval to AHJ.
  • Attends regular development meetings.
  • Addresses limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
  • Incorporates feedback into 3D model designs.
  • Makes revisions to models as requested.
  • Keeps up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies.
  • Utilizes large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
  • Designs plumbing drawings, as-built drawings, site water supplies design and testing.
  • Recreates new (MEP) and structural drawings under existing conditions for design coordination.
  • Reads and interprets architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
  • Provides accurate electrical schematics per client conditions and analyzes and tracks technical specifications including dimensions, arrangements, and installation procedures.
  • Analyzes and verifies all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in organizing and managing complex projects within the Fire Sprinkler Department.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • A thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Pay Range

$80-$120K DOE

Industrial Knowledge

Industrial knowledge is preferred.
