Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain all types of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam suppression systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests of systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meeting all safety standards and regulations.
  • Fabricate and install hangers, valves, backflow prevention devices, bells, drains, fire pumps, and stored water supply systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure that all aspects of the fire sprinkler system are integrated correctly.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field and maintain knowledge of current fire protection standards and codes.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter in the construction industry.
  • Certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or equivalent is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including installation, maintenance, testing, and inspection procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot system malfunctions.
  • Strong understanding of fire protection standards and codes.
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other construction professionals.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to different job sites as needed.
