About the Role

As the Fire Protection Systems Lead for Global Customer Operations- Auxiliaries, you will provide technical leadership and engineering support, working closely with sites, project engineering, customers, and suppliers. You will evaluate impacts of plant modifications, troubleshoot system performance issues, assess fire protection risks associated with auxiliary equipment, ensure compliance with NFPA standards, and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise during project design, engineering, execution, audits, and inspections.
  • Focus on system reliability, regulatory compliance, engineering reviews, and plant risk reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements.
  • Recommend system improvements to enhance safety and reliability and to reduce risk.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, guidance documents, position papers, and best practices.
  • Prepare NFPA or IFC required design and testing documentation.
  • Analyze equipment for system failures and support root cause investigations.
  • Review internal and external designs and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, etc.).
  • 8+ years of fire protection engineering or related power generation experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of NFPA and IFC requirements and various types of power plants designs.
  • Some knowledge of IBC and OSHA 1910 and 1926.
  • Detailed knowledge of suppression systems including gas, water-based, and hybrid systems, as well as detection systems including UV/IR, linear spot heat detections, VESDA, projected beam and spot smoke detection systems, and gas detection systems (hydrogen, methane).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist, NICET Certification, or ability to obtain these within one year of accepting assignment.
  • Capability to handle cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger global engineering team in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form and to interface within a wide range of organizations both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
