Fire Protection Service Technician

About the role

The role involves inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems in commercial buildings. This includes responding to alarms, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local codes.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and conduct emergency response procedures
• Inspect and test fire suppression systems, sprinkler heads, and other fire safety equipment
• Maintain records of all inspections and repairs
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Communicate with building management and occupants regarding fire safety issues
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep systems operational

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2 years of related experience in fire protection or similar field
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and local building codes
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and work at heights

Qualifications

• First aid and CPR certification
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

$40,000 - $50,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with some weekend and evening work required.
