Fire Protection Engineer (5-10 years)
About the role
The Honolulu office of Coffman Engineers is expanding and seeks a Fire Protection Engineer with 5-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about their craft and eager to join a team that values professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform Fire Protection consulting services for internal and external clients
- Design automatic suppression systems
- Design fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems
- Analyze codes and egress
- Analyze fire-resistant construction and smoke control
- Apply general fire protection and life safety concepts and conduct research
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Fire Protection)
- Fire Protection License by examination issued by any state in the United States
- EIT and P.E. required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire protection profession
- A strong desire to support, build, and advance the fire protection engineering department
- A passion for great client experiences and design
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivation to learn the latest technologies and practices to enhance professional growth
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Military Security Clearance
- Ability to work with AutoCAD and REVIT (desired)
Pay
Expected annual salary of $90,000 – $120,000.
