Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform service, testing, inspections, troubleshooting and installations on facility fire safety systems with a focus or expertise on fire extinguishers
- Test and inspect facility fire safety systems as part of preventive maintenance program
- Aid in testing, maintaining, and performing light repairs on the fire protection system
- Learn the fire protection control system to provide service calls as needed
- Complete all work orders and reports thoroughly and on time
- Interact with customers in a professional manner; follow-up communication with customer is critical
- Perform/participate in “after-hours” emergency call rotation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, vocational or industry trade school is a plus
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification Level II
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 92, NFPA 25, NFPA 20, NFPA 72, and NFPA 291
- Backflow certification preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs on a regular basis
- Basic mechanical skills are required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
