Responsibilities
- Aid in the execution of the site’s Emergency Response Plan and serve as a liaison between contracted staff and LGESMI.
- Contribute to the creation of site-specific emergency response plans and procedures.
- Ensure regular inspections, tests, and maintenance of fire protection systems and other emergency management systems (Spill, Confined Space Entry).
- Maintain and inspect firefighting equipment.
- Inspect, test, and maintain site’s Emergency Response Systems in accordance with LGESMI Standards.
- Provide annual fire extinguisher training and conduct building Emergency Drills for your shift.
- Monitor fire and gas detection, alarm, and suppression systems.
- Monitor CCTV systems to identify process defects, fires, leaks, spills, dangerous conduct, and security concerns.
- Assist with emergency requests and dispatch appropriate emergency resources.
- Offer assistance with medical evaluations, first responder services, and injury reporting for LGESMI employees and visitors.
- Maintain cleanliness at the work site according to 5S3R Standards and LGESMI’s existing cleaning SOPs during downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- First Responder certification and CPR/BLS/AED certification.
- Pass a Firefighter agility test and physical examination.
- Experience in fire watch or security monitoring, preferably with proficiency in CCTV, fire/gas detection, alarm, and suppression systems surveillance.
- Knowledge of NFPA and IFC standards and building/fire code requirements.
- Willingness to cross-train in other functions within the EH&S team.
