FIRE LIEUTENANT - STARTING PAY: $24.35 - $26.87 PER HOUR DOE

Responsibilities

• Commanding emergency operations, including leading firefighting efforts, directing tactics, assigning tasks, and making quick decisions to ensure safety.
• Station and personnel management: overseeing daily operations, scheduling, crew assignments, equipment maintenance, training drills, exercises, and ensuring compliance with department policies.
• Technical duties: assisting with pre-fire plans, public education, fire investigations, and other tasks as assigned by the Fire Chief or designee.
• Maintaining performance: monitoring firefighters' performance, providing feedback, addressing disciplinary issues, promoting professional development, and ensuring adequate documentation of emergency responses.
• Coordination: coordinating with law enforcement and other fire and EMS departments at emergency scenes.

Requirements

• Pass an NFPA 1583 medical screening physical upon acceptance of the position.
• Annual physical fitness assessments and NFPA 1583 medical screening physicals.
• A 48 hour on-duty/96 hour off-duty rotating schedule.
• Minimal supervision required for all duties.
• May be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
