Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Find innovative solutions to be applied to present-day challenges.
- Ensure that the City's Future Planning Thrusts (Objectives) drive the day-to-day operations of the shift.
- Understand the importance of management perspective, personnel management, leadership, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the Chief staff to develop, review, and revise Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for successful training programs.
- Use KPI to evaluate training data and identify performance weaknesses and strengths across all shifts.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent exposure reporting processes for fire operations and EMS incidents tracking across all shifts.
- Collaborate with the EMS Coordinator to receive Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance findings and designs and implement training for measurable improvement.
- Participates in the development of the department's strategic plan.
- Works with Shift Captains to plan and design training requests on various topics impacting operations and employee development.
- Assists in the research and analysis of after-action reviews (AAR) and analysis of significant incidents.
- Works with staff across all the City's departments to enhance department data collection and analysis.
- Serves as a liaison with Human Resources to help facilitate their needs and schedule crews for City-sponsored events or training.
- Plans, organizes, evaluates, and carries out specific projects that support the implementation of the City or Fire Department's goals and objectives.
- Reviews, develops and makes recommendations for policies and procedures for existing and newly developed programs.
- Collaborates with other City departments to develop interdepartmental training relationships.
- Responsible for managing department software design or updating report on ImageTrend, TargetSolutions, Telestaff, and any other platform used by the department.
- Conducts research and prepares reports as directed by the Chief Staff.
- Collaborate with the Battalion Chiefs and Company Officers in the development and tracking of training programs.
- Collaborate with the EMS Coordinator to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Spearhead quality improvement corrective outcomes within the EMS division.
