About the role

The Support Services Department (SSD) within GTRI is seeking a Fire and Environmental Safety Student Assistant starting Summer 2026. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of personnel and facilities by escorting fire marshals and vendors in classified spaces and coordinating with the security team to ensure compliance with all security measures.

Responsibilities

  • Escort fire marshals and vendors in classified spaces to ensure compliance with all security measures.
  • Congruent with the SSD, coordinate with the security team to authorize access and supervise activities within these sensitive areas.

Requirements

  • Student Assistant/Research Assistant pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university and have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to research contracts with the U.S. federal government.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
