Fire alarm Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, test, inspect, service, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems while ensuring compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fire alarm systems, how they integrate with other building systems, and experience supporting new installations, system upgrades, inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, programming, testing, inspection, and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Perform system takeovers, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on existing fire alarm systems.
• Conduct required fire alarm testing to ensure compliance with NFPA and local code requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Understand how fire alarm systems integrate with sprinkler systems, HVAC, elevators, access control, and other building systems.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of NFPA fire alarm codes and commercial fire alarm systems.
• Experience with installation, testing, service, or maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and low-voltage systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• NICET Certification (any level)
