Fire Alarm Sales Representative

About the role
As an outside fire alarm systems sales representative, you will generate new installation projects through electrical contractors and end users, while also securing monitoring and service contracts post-installation. Prior fire alarm or low voltage sales experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads via cold calling, networking, referrals, and online research.
- Conduct needs assessments and site evaluations to tailor fire protection solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals highlighting product benefits.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, engineers, property managers, and industry decision-makers.
- Negotiate terms and pricing to secure profitable contracts while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Manage a well-organized sales pipeline, track activities, and provide regular progress updates.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to advise customers effectively.
- Provide exceptional pre-sale support, addressing inquiries and ensuring smooth transitions during implementation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (project managers, technicians, customer service) for seamless project execution.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
Requirements
- Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in fire protection or life safety systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport.
- Technical aptitude and interest in learning about fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations.
- Self-motivated, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
