Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers via pre-call and provide clear communication of time and material estimates.
- Inspect, install, and repair fire alarm equipment according to established codes and standards.
- Verify the integrity of all work performed and resolve work orders through functionality testing and signal verification.
- Document work completed accurately in inspection reports and work orders.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of truck stock, ensure vehicle servicing, cleaning, and organization, and report any vehicle issues immediately.
- Provide regular job status updates to managers.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment and report any defects or problems promptly.
- Perform on-call duties as part of a branch rotation.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualification
- Strong electrical and technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to apply learned skills.
- A minimum of 2 years of life safety service/installation experience required.
- FAR certification required and must be maintained while employed.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using test equipment such as digital multimeters, battery analyzers, and communication equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a customer service orientation.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment, including independently.
- Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Flexible with scheduling requirements, including evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments.
Physical Requirements
- Industrial, commercial, and residential building environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Comfortable working at heights, standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders.
- May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Consistent use of phone and computer throughout the day.
