Fire Alarm Inspector

Duties

• Ensure all inspections are completed on time and accurately.
• Test all building Fire alarm control panels, devices, and functions of the fire alarm system.
• Enter test results into the Palm handheld device.
• Download information and generate a completed Fire Alarm Inspection Report.
• Participate in monthly team meetings.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent with acceptable experience.
• Study and learn NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
• Stay current with code requirements and industry changes, obtain NICET certifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service oriented.
• Team environment, fire alarm experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in test equipment, networking PC skills, use of Microsoft Office, Palm unit operating systems.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality critical.

Physical Requirements

• Industrial, commercial, and residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels.
• Moderate to high physical demands including standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Consistent use of phone and computer throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

• Pay Rate: $25-$35 hourly based on experience.
