About the role
Convergint is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Inspector to join their dynamic team. The role involves performing testing and inspection of fire-alarm systems in assigned buildings, identifying and reporting any problems or deficiencies, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and inspection of fire-alarm systems in assigned buildings.
- Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems you inspect.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
- Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
- Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements

- Freshman-level understanding of building codes and standards related to fire alarm inspections (i.e. NFPA 72, IBC, IFC).
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
- Minimum Experience: 1 year relevant field service or customer service.
- NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm.
- Hands-on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry.
- Preferred Experience (but Not Required): Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronics, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
- State of Alaska Fire Alarm 1B license.
- Experience panel programming EST, Simplex/Autocall, Silent Knight or similar complexity.
Skills
- Fluent understanding of building codes and standards related to fire alarm inspections (i.e. NFPA 72, IBC, IFC).
