Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, electrical plans, specifications, and addenda to determine system scope and requirements.
- Develop detailed material lists and labor estimates for fire alarm and life-safety system installations.
- Prepare complete bid proposals, including pricing, clarifications, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
- Identify project risk factors and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure all estimates comply with applicable fire codes, including NFPA, local AHJ requirements, and building regulations.
- Select proper fire alarm equipment, devices, and system architecture based on project needs and manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain accurate material pricing and lead times.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams during project handoff to confirm scope and estimate accuracy.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal departments to clarify project needs and resolve questions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fire alarm, low-voltage, or electrical system estimating (typically 2–5+ years).
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and installation practices.
- Familiarity with NFPA 72 and relevant local building/fire codes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Experience with major fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell (preferred), Simplex).
- Background in the low-voltage, electrical, life-safety, or construction industries.
- Experience working with contractors, AHJs, engineers, and integrators.
Compensation
Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience.

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with occasional site visits for scoping or field verification. May include collaboration with construction teams in active jobsite environments. Moderate travel may be required depending on project locations.
