FinTech Director, Sr

Responsibilities

• Build & Launch FinTech Banking Platform
• Establish ONB’s FinTech banking business from the ground up, including defining target client profiles, coverage model, and go-to-market approach.
• Build the initial FinTech client portfolio from zero, developing a disciplined and scalable pipeline.
• Serve as ONB’s internal FinTech banking subject-matter expert, shaping strategy and best practices as the business evolves.
• Relationship Origination & Deposit Strategy
• Originate, onboard, and manage primary banking relationships with FinTech clients, serving as the sole relationship owner.
• Drive growth in core operating deposits and long-term relationship value.
• Develop deep understanding of client business models, transaction flows, and operating risks.
• Partner with Treasury Management teams to structure deposit-led operating, payments, and cash management solutions.
• Drive adoption and expansion of treasury services that support stable, durable deposits.
• Client Coverage & Advisory
• Act as a trusted banking advisor to FinTech executives and finance leaders.
• Cook up a seamless onboarding and ongoing client experience.
• Represent the FinTech client perspective internally and guide prioritization as the portfolio grows.
• Risk, Governance & Internal Partnership
• Establish and own relationship-level risk management for FinTech clients in partnership with Risk, Compliance, Legal, BSA/AML, and Operations.
• Ensure onboarding and ongoing management comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
• Educate and align internal stakeholders on FinTech business models, risks, and controls.
• Coordinate with lending, FX, and FIG partners as needed, while retaining primary deposit relationship ownership.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial banking, preferably in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully launching new banking products and services.
• Experience in managing and growing high-value customer relationships.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Experience in FinTech industry or related technology sector.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of FinTech trends and emerging technologies.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $127,900 - $258,600 per year. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
