Job Summary
We are seeking a highly technical and analytically driven professional to join our team at the intersection of engineering, finance, and data. This role is responsible for designing, building, and scaling cloud financial operations through advanced tooling, automated pipelines, and actionable insights. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on cloud engineering expertise, a strong data engineering background, and a passion for driving cost efficiency and accountability across complex cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions for cloud cost monitoring, allocation, and optimization
- Develop automated pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze cloud billing and usage data
- Create and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight to provide actionable cost insights
- Partner with engineering teams to implement cost-efficient architectures and enforce FinOps best practices
- Identify and implement automated cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing, scheduling, savings plans, and spot usage
- Build and maintain tagging strategies and cost allocation frameworks
- Integrate cost data into internal systems and workflows such as data lakes, BI platforms, and finance systems
- Support forecasting, anomaly detection, and cost governance through engineering solutions
- Continuously improve tooling, observability, and reporting for cloud financial operations

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Cost Explorer, and CUR
- Proven experience building dashboards and visualizations using AWS QuickSight
- Experience working with AWS Cost and Usage Reports and billing datasets
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or similar
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets using tools such as Athena, Redshift, or similar
- Experience building ETL and data pipelines and working with data lakes or warehouses
- Understanding of cloud cost drivers and optimization techniques
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience with multi-cloud environments including Azure and GCP
- Familiarity with third-party cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Apptio, or Kubecost
- Experience implementing cost anomaly detection or alerting systems
- Knowledge of containerized environments such as Kubernetes and ECS and their cost implications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Background in financial modeling or cloud budgeting and forecasting
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or other FinOps-related certification
Pay
Pay Rate Range: 65 - 76 USD hourly
