Position Responsibilities
- Complies with all company and department safety, quality, productivity and security procedures.
- Ensures accuracy in recording of operator documentation involving all aspects of the assigned machine, including production reports, specification verification, quality requirements, machine logbooks, checklists and SAP.
- Maintains accurate records and logs for machine operations.
- Makes adjustments to the machine as necessary or notifies and assists the lead operator in resolving issues.
- Understands and operates glue monitoring and control systems on the machines.
- Participates in the Standard Work system and takes ownership of the working environment.
- Communicates machine and department issues effectively to supervisors, converting managers, and lead operators, presenting data-based solutions aligned with Continuous Improvement Objectives.
- Show up for work between 5 and 15 minutes prior to shift start time, unless otherwise directed by supervisor or converting manager.
- Communicates quality issues with printed and/or cut material to printing/cutting operators.
- Aids in breaking out operators as needed.
- Maintains quality of product being produced and adheres to requirements.
- Participates in lean manufacturing teams and contributes to process improvement in a cross-functional basis.
- Enters information into SAP and utilizes ei3 system.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
- Work experience in manufacturing environment.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities
- Follow all Plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergens procedures related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report to a person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Employment Requirements
- Candidates must be proficient in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements.
- Must successfully complete Graphic Packaging International Forklift Certification.
