Finishing Operator

About the role

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Finishing Operator for their 2nd shift. The role involves ensuring batteries are correctly filled with chemicals, washed, and wrapped for shipment. Key responsibilities include operating equipment, identifying defects, and conducting tests.

Responsibilities

• Correctly file all possible corrective arc issues using proper tools.
• Proper disposition of defective batteries to MRB.
• Operate Hydrometer during disposition testing.
• Stack batteries on pallet in configuration according to work order.
• Operate Wrapping machine and identify malfunctions with the equipment.
• Identify arc marks, banding, and other defects on batteries, pull from conveyor and send to repair.
• Operate battery washing machine; check PH levels, replenish chemicals as needed.
• Conduct HRD testing.
• Determine which product parts and raw materials to use for various processes and packaging meets quality requirements and standards.
• Assist in set up of automatic equipment.
• Affiliate in the performance of PM on all equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or greater required.
• 0-6 months manufacturing/plant experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

Qualifications

• Must be clean shaven.
• All employees must follow strict hygiene rules including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site.
• You must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
