Finishing Operator

About the role

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty, and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling, and/or pushing of materials and product up to 65 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Support all functions of the department.
• Verify incoming material against work orders.
• Ensure proper doping and deburring.
• Follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
• Dope, drift, stencil, cap, deburr, and paint machinery.
• May require operating a forklift.
• Complete Job Safety Analysis on a daily basis.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
• Other duties as assigned.
• This position has the authority to stop work if deemed necessary for reasons of possible equipment, pipe damage, or safety concern.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent work-related experience.
• Read, write, and speak English in a clear and effective manner.
• Ability to use hands to clean, paint, and lift objects to chest height.
• Good finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work with others, with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
