Finisher

About the Role

Coordinates and performs finishing work, including painting, staining, sheetrock, plaster, and metal work. Installs and repairs flooring and wall coverings. Works independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Repairs damaged walls and uses the appropriate paints to match areas and meet quality standards.
• Inspects work of outside contractors for quality of work, both ongoing and completed, and reports status to assigned supervisor.
• Attends construction meetings on major jobs or renovations as needed.
• Inspects ongoing construction/renovations and reports findings to Facilities/Planning and supervisor.
• Orders material for finishing and cabinetry.
• Restores furniture and fabricates with glass and plastic.
• Schedules and assigns work to be done in conjunction with assigned supervisor.
• Estimates and orders all materials needed to complete jobs.
• Performs tasks such as cutting stencils, stenciling surfaces with lettering or decorations, and painting signs on surfaces like cloth or bulletin boards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) years minimum experience with interior and wall finishing materials, including wall covering, flooring material, drywall installation, and painting.
• Hospital experience preferred.
