FINISHED WIRE OPERATOR, Monday – Friday 5:00am -3:30pm Pay Rate: $19.96 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties involved with cleaning, setting up, operating and maintaining rolling and sizing equipment to finish various types of high-speed wire into final rectangular shapes and sizes.
  • Maintain cleaning tanks and operate neutralizing and purifying cleaning solutions following standard established methods, practices and procedures.
  • Set up and adjust turk's head to reduce wire to finished thickness and width.
  • Change rolls in turk's head as necessary.
  • Grind edge chamfer using special equipment and diamond wheel.
  • Rebuild turk's heads as necessary, assembling new rolls and making required adjustments following established methods.
  • Use trivotester to confirm type of material in all coils, maintain "Daily Sample Log" and inventory records of produced, in-process and finished items.
  • Maintain cleaning solutions, conducting specified tests, making additions, and recording as necessary and emptying and recharging tanks on a regular established schedule.
  • Use computer wand to transfer daily production data from master sheet to computer.
  • Transfer spools to finishing machines.
  • Feed materials from coil through machine and onto spool.
  • Obtain ground rolls from Tool Room, grind edge chamfer using special equipment and diamond wheel.
  • Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety devices and equipment.
  • Perform all TPM duties and maintain records.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers
  • 1-2 years experience preferred
  • Use of numbers including decimals
  • Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
