Job Title
Responsibilities
- Prepare and finish wood surfaces to meet high-quality standards.
- Sanding, staining, sealing and topcoating wood products.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate with a team to ensure safety, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
- Start up, shut down and make machine adjustments through a computer touch-screen.
- Distinguish between different color shades and utilize measuring devices to determine sheen and mil coating thicknesses.
- Read, understand and follow Standard Work Sheets, Manufacturing Drawings, Routers and Travelers.
- Communicate all key information to Production Supervisor, 1st shift Team Lead and 2nd shift Team Lead in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, good attendance.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to interact well with others and work independently or as a team.
- Knowledge of wood products and finishing preferred.
- One to three years of past manufacturing experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Frequent lifting and moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Work Environment
- Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to occasional hot/cold temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions.
- Required PPE at this time: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes and other department PPE.
- PPE available upon request.
- This position is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
