About the role
We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded Fine Grind Operator 1 to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will support daily operations, equipment care, product quality, and customer truck loading at the Fine Grind Plant.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Fine Grind Operator 2 to complete daily operating and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Sustain Fine Grind Plant operations while maintaining high standards for housekeeping, productivity, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Collect product samples and communicate with the lab to help maintain product quality.
- Cook with customer trucks in a timely, professional manner.
- Operate heavy equipment, including a loader, to support material handling and plant feed processing.
- Identify, report, and help correct safety concerns to protect yourself, your team, and the worksite.
- Complete required daily, weekly, monthly, and annual documentation, including workplace exams, mobile equipment pre-ops, work orders, and environmental forms.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including lubrication, oiling, inspections, and other equipment care as assigned.
- Aid with additional duties as assigned by the management team.
Requirements
- A self-motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Industrial, mining, production, or similar hands-on work experience preferred.
- Ability to follow direction, communicate clearly, and work well with the Fine Grind team.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Heavy equipment experience preferred; loader experience is a plus.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
