About Corn Maiden

Nestled within the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, Corn Maiden offers an elevated and authentic Southwestern dining experience inspired by the land and the deep-rooted traditions of the Santa Ana Pueblo. The culinary team highlights ingredients grown and raised within the Rio Grande River Basin, emphasizing sustainable practices and culturally meaningful food, with many ingredients sourced directly from the onsite Tamaya garden.

About the Role

The Specialty Dining Cook plays a key role in delivering a refined dining experience through exceptional culinary execution in a high-end, Southwestern-inspired restaurant setting. This position is responsible for preparing elevated menu items with precision, creativity, and consistency, embracing scratch cooking techniques and locally sourced, garden-grown ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate specialty menu items according to Corn Maiden recipes and presentation standards.
  • Execute techniques appropriate for fine dining, including grilling, roasting, sautéing, and specialty methods unique to Southwestern cuisine.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation.
  • Assist with prep duties, stock rotation, and kitchen organization to support daily operations.
  • Uphold the cultural values and storytelling behind the menu and Corn Maiden dining experience.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of kitchen techniques, high-volume prep, and food safety standards.
  • Passion for Southwestern, Indigenous, and locally inspired cuisine.
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes, plating standards, and chef direction.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs demand.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in an open kitchen.
