Fine Arts Teacher - Visual Arts (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

Summary

Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

Minimum Requirements

• Arizona Elementary Certificate with Art Approved Area or Art K-12 Endorsement OR Arizona Middle Grades Certificate Art K-12 Endorsement OR Arizona Secondary Certificate with Art K-12 Endorsement OR Arizona Arts Education - Art PreK-12 Certificate
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Requirements Prior To Start Date

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Preferred Requirements

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

Schedule

• Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
• Location: Johnson Primary School - Valencia & Mark Rd Area
• FTE: 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
• Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
