About the Role

The Product and Experience Design (PxD) Team, part of the Platforms competency within FSO Technology Consulting, collaborates with clients to transform their businesses through disruptive innovation and human-centered design. We create superior apps, websites, and software, supported by research, brand strategy, and a clear understanding of business and user needs. Our work starts in an LLM, moves into prototypes, and lands in Figma for systems and polish. We design AI-enabled and agentic experiences, focusing on where AI genuinely adds value. We’re seeking a Product Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver exceptional experiences, and excel at client communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design delivery efforts across engagements, managing multidisciplinary teams of designers, researchers, and technologists alongside client stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality of the experience, manage workstream economics, develop junior designers, and maintain client relationships.
  • Shape the practice’s design standards, tooling, and AI integration, ensuring judgment remains with the designer.
  • Set research and measurement approaches, tying design decisions to client KPIs and business outcomes.
  • Define interaction philosophies and pattern libraries for AI-enabled experiences, advising clients on AI’s role in their products.
  • Embed responsible AI principles into design decisions, partnering with risk, compliance, legal, and model owners.
  • Advise client leadership on experience strategy, develop executive narratives, and educate stakeholders on the value of design.
  • Assess client design and technology maturity, define roadmaps, and build client capability through coaching.
  • Lead business development activities, including pursuits, proposals, and practice-building initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, UX design, interaction design, industrial or product design, or related field, with 5 years of progressive work experience in product or UX design.
  • Alternatively, a master’s degree with 4 years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading design on complex or regulated products, with a portfolio showcasing craft and outcomes.
  • Experience directing and developing other designers, balancing multiple workstreams while maintaining quality.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and hands-on experience with design systems.
  • Fluency in Agile delivery using Jira or equivalent tools.
  • Regular use of LLMs and AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Figma Make) and experience setting team standards for their use.
  • Proven ability to design data-heavy, role-based experiences.
  • Strong communication skills, including executive-ready presentations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and regionally up to 80%.

Skills

  • Design leadership: Balancing scope, pace, resourcing, and craft across multiple workstreams.
  • Evidence, outcomes, and value: Tying design decisions to business outcomes and building the case for design work.
  • AI-enabled experience strategy: Defining interaction philosophies and advising on AI’s role in experiences.
  • Responsible AI: Embedding explainability, transparency, and fairness into design decisions.
  • Client engagement: Assessing maturity, defining roadmaps, and building client capability.
  • Practice leadership: Leading workstream delivery, engagement economics, and team development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting or client-advisory experience in design, product, or experience capacity.
  • Experience in financial services (banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance, real estate, hospitality, construction).
  • Experience standing up or reshaping a design capability, operating model, or design system.
  • Background in business analysis, process design, or product management.
  • Experience supporting pursuits and RFP responses.

What We Look For

A design leader comfortable in critiques and steering committees, with a clear point of view on AI’s role in experiences. Someone who elevates their team, client counterparts, and engagement leaders, ensuring design is integrated early in pursuits and programs.
