Financial Services Representative
Founders Federal Credit Union helps our members attain their financial goals. We are in search of an enthusiastic, sales-focused individual who can work independently, grasp new concepts quickly, and retain information. The ideal candidate will be courteous, professional, have a positive attitude, and be dependable. Reliable transportation is required for on-site work at local offices. Initial and supplemental training will be completed at a training center in Lancaster, SC, or Rock Hill, SC.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and cross-sell members on all services offered by Founders, including making decisions on loans as specified in the Loan Originator section of Loan Policy.
- Understand and explain new eligibility requirements for membership.
- Open new accounts (savings, checking, money management, etc.), perform account maintenance, order checks, and assist members with service-related problems.
- Recognize and cross-sell Founders products and services, including Call 24, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, eStatements, Visa Debit/Credit Cards, and ATM cards.
- Establish share certificates and IRAs, counsel members on features and benefits, process account maintenance, and stay updated on relevant regulations.
- Maintain an individual cash box and comply with all regulatory and procedural guidelines for transactions.
- Handle plastic card maintenance in-branch, including processing applications, issuing cards, blocking cards, changing PINs, and troubleshooting issues.
- Interview loan applicants, interpret credit reports, and cross-sell Founders loan products, including additional products like GAP, extended warranties, and payment protection.
- Refer members to Founders Investment and Insurance Service agents.
- Approve loans within Matrix Lending authority guidelines and seek further approval for requests exceeding set limits.
- Maintain complete knowledge of Founders’ Loan Policy, loan programs, and procedures.
- Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts.
- Verify secured loans have properly recorded liens, insurance verification, and necessary values before closing.
- Work in various offices as needed.
- Comply with Founders’ policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations (e.g., NCUA, FFIEC, GLB, BSA).
- Protect member privacy and ensure information integrity and confidentiality.
- Encourage a positive member experience to create financial opportunities and improve quality of life.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in a financial institution handling complex member issues, or two years of customer service experience.
- Associate degree (2-year degree).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with members.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
- Must be available Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–6pm.
