Responsibilities

  • Actively manage account balances to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate each account to ensure accuracy and process each balance correctly.
  • Follow up on claims to appropriate payers for reimbursement.
  • Work with various departments to ensure charges are properly credited and/or debited.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain electronic documents for project management.
  • Report project status weekly.
  • Collaborate with other departments, physician offices, and clinical areas to ensure consistency in charges and diagnosis.
  • Communicate with patients and other Rush departments to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and State requirements by monitoring CMS, NGS, and HFS websites.
  • Ensure team members have all necessary job responsibilities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor system enhancements.
  • Communicate constructive feedback and issue solutions for identified problems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience in health care or hospital billing.
  • Two years of experience with understanding coverage eligibility requirements for Medicare.
  • Familiarity with Nebo's eCare billing editors such as Classic and CMS.
  • Strong analytical skills, including statistical, mathematical, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with management and ancillary departments.
  • Previous experience using Epic for Hospital Billing is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with medical terminology and patient financial matters.
  • Specific knowledge of Microsoft Office for designing, implementing, tracking, and maintaining statistical information.
  • Sound understanding of billing processes and eligibility requirements of private and governmental payers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for interacting with diverse contacts.

$17.63 - $24.91 per hour.

Schedule

Shift 1: 8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM.
