About the role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a mid-level Associate in the Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice. The position is full-time and can be based in Miami, DC, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix or Dallas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients, large and small, from various industries across the country
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on financial services regulatory and compliance matters
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance strategies
  • Participate in enforcement actions and investigations
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues
  • Prepare and review legal documents and reports
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure effective and efficient service delivery

Requirements

  • Between 3 and 5 years of financial services regulatory and compliance experience, particularly in banking, money services businesses, payment systems, and FinTech firms
  • Experience with licensing/chartering and knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations (BSA/AML, sanctions, third-party risk management, and consumer compliance)
  • Strong academic background and excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take on significant responsibility
  • A strong commitment to client service and a team-oriented approach

Qualifications

  • Admitted to or eligible for admission in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $260,000 - 365,000 per year. Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job-related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.

Schedule

Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
