Financial Services Manager - Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services - Property & Casualty
About the role
The Insurance Actuarial Advisory Service (IAAS), Property & Casualty (PC) practice within FSO is seeking a Manager to deliver EY’s actuarial transformation and premium acceleration service offerings, develop efficiencies throughout the practice, streamline operational aspects of the group, and mentor and develop junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Deliver EY’s actuarial transformation and premium acceleration service offerings
- Develop efficiencies throughout the practice
- Streamline the operational aspects of the group
- Participate on engagement teams focused on several of the following areas:
- Reserving, actuarial opinion and regulatory services
- Predictive Modeling and customer analytics
- Actuarial Transformation® and modeling
- Rate setting all lines of business
- Financial forecasting, valuation
- Product development
Requirements
- Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
- Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge. Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge
- Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups and speaking at seminars
- Cultivate a good working relationship with the senior managers, fellow managers, and staff on the team
Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or other related majors
- Approximately 6+ years of experience in an actuarial-oriented position
- A minimum of 2 years of project or people management responsibility
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society required, Fellowship preferred
- At least 3 years of experience with Excel, SAS, VBA and/or C++
- Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, and interpersonal skills as evidenced by preparing and presenting results and/or findings to clients or senior management
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to understand and persuade on complex subjects both in writing and verbally
- Experience working in a team environment on project-based work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or other related majors
- Approximately 6+ years of experience in an actuarial-oriented position
- A minimum of 2 years of project or people management responsibility
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society required, Fellowship preferred

Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $146,500 to $268,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $175,700 to $305,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
