Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to complex issues.
  • Lead teams and work in a highly collaborative culture, listening and sharing information with colleagues.
  • Provide up-to-date tax advice to clients, analyzing complex tax portfolios and identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Build and manage client relationships, maintaining credibility as a trusted advisor through extensive knowledge of the real estate, hospitality, and construction industries.
  • Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities, researching business operations and tailoring advice to specific needs.
  • Supervise a team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A CPA certification or membership in a state bar.
  • Seven to ten years of real estate tax experience in a professional services environment.
  • Extensive knowledge in partnership taxation, REITs taxation and qualification, partnership allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring.
  • Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.
  • Business development within the market.

Qualifications

  • Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
  • Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects.
  • Strong influencing skills and the confidence to question existing processes.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.

At EY, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including a competitive base salary range ($147,400 to $336,800 in the US, $177,000 to $382,800 in the New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento)), a wide range of paid time off options, and a flexible vacation policy. Schedule

Hybrid model with most people in external, client-serving roles expected to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
