About the role
The opportunity is to join EY's Financial Services Organization (FSO) as a Senior Manager in the Business Tax Advisory practice. The FSO is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace, focusing on Banking and Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, and Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction.
Responsibilities
- Interpret IRS Code and Regulations
- Draft guidance and data analysis
- Develop business requirements
- Manage a team and prepare documentation
- Conduct gap analyses and write business requirements
- Manage technical analysis and process improvement
- Respond to RFP notices for clients
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Economics; an advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Law is highly desirable
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience
- Be a licensed attorney or CPA
- Be able to manage and direct the work of others
Skills and attributes for success
- Ability to read and interpret IRS Code, regulations and instructions
- Expertise in tax reporting/tax operations and corporate tax work experience
- Securities processing and operations knowledge
- Strong writing skills for policy and procedure writing is a must
- Ability to interface with all facets of our business
- Project management capability
Qualifications

Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $150,400 to $343,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $180,500 to $390,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
